Traditional Black Bogolan Mudcloths

Bogolan is an ancestral technique, which draws its ingredients in nature: water, earth, sun, and natural pigments. “Bogolan” in the Bambara language means “done with the earth."  Our mud cloths are sustainably handmade out of a durable cotton canvas with tribal motifs. The traditional mud cloths are usually found in yellow and black tones. More colors were added later, combining various natural ingredients. Each design tells its own beautiful story.
